If you’re useless at reading a map, the obvious solution is to invest in an in car satellite navigation device right? Wrong, with the increasing popularity of smart phones such as the iPhone (available for free from freebiejeebies), these devices now have mobile navigation software that can be downloaded for little to no charge.
So what about the more expensive apps, such as TomTom’s navigation services for the iPhone, an app that clocks in at $39.99 or $49.99 with included Canadian maps. With free alternatives available, is it really worth investing in these high priced apps? Probably not.
Of course, every app in the market place has it’s audience, there is no right and wrong answer, but TomTom’s app, given it’s price bracket, is for rich people who can afford to shell out that kind of money for little improvement of service. There is no doubt that the TomTom app is the best around, but it’s currently just not affordable.
